In the very north of Chile you will find the Atacama desert. One of the driest deserts in the world, full of strange and wonderful landscapes that make you feel like you're on a different planet. This is taken at sunrise in Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) in a national park just near the little town of San Pedro de Atacama. The soft morning light made the amazing colours of the landscape come to life.
A view of some of the graceful patterns meandering through the harsh salt pans in the Atacama Desert, north of San Pedro de Atacama, Northern Chile.
I don't work with paint, but try with light. I always admire the skill of my friends who work with the former. The patterns in this fresh water stream in Patagonia remind me of brush strokes, applying light mixed with water instead.
