An abstract image. The base of an ancient volcano between Chile and Bolivia in the Atacama Desert. I loved the colours in the Atacama desert - a juxtaposition between such a harsh dry landscape and beautiful soft colour.

In the very north of Chile you will find the Atacama desert. One of the driest deserts in the world, full of strange and wonderful landscapes that make you feel like you're on a different planet. This is taken at sunrise in Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) in a national park just near the little town of San Pedro de Atacama. The soft morning light made the amazing colours of the landscape come to life.
