Blood red sky. Another striking thing I noticed in Queensland on this visit was the skies at sunset. Amber red. A product of the smoke haze from the bush fires. Eerie yet beautiful. Here’s another scene from Nudgee Beach, the blood red sky caught as reflections in sand flats, creating interesting patterns leading the eye out to silhouetted mangroves in the background.

Sylvia Falls, Valley of the Waters, Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains, Australia. If you haven’t done the National Pass walk at Wentworth Falls, I’d highly recommend it. I took the walk down into the valley and just passed this water fall as the sun was sending shafts of light across the scene, etched by the mist and spray coming off the falls. Mesmerising…
