The majestic Russell Falls. A multi tiered wonder in the middle of Mount Field National Park in Tasmania. I spent over an hour here photographing this impressive waterfall. Powerful yet graceful. . . . .
During a waterfall crawl around Hobart this year, I visited Horseshoe Falls, about 1.5 hours from Hobart. I was perched low in the middle of the tumbling stream, tripod getting wet and camera just above the on coming flow in the foreground. Immersed in the scene, so to speak!
The Derwent River, in Tasmaina flows along more than 200km, drops over 700m from its source and pushes up to 140 cubic metres per second. A picture of contrasts – the strong leading lines of the bridge vs the meandering white streaks in the river, the deep dark blues of the shadows vs the bright highlights of the sunset hitting the water.
